Brevan Howard Asset Management LLP (BHAM) is one of Europe’s most successful hedge fund managers. Established in 2002 as a manager of alternative investments, and covering a range of investment activity, its flagship fund won two industry awards in 2005. The company has grown rapidly to the point where assets under Brevan Howard’s management total in excess of US $8bn.
In early 2003, Brevan Howard became aware of the benefits that an Intranet could bring to their business. The period of success that followed the company’s inception in 2002 had made expansion a priority, and an Intranet was seen as the ideal information tool to keep employees in constant contact both during and after the expansion process.
Orchid Software suggested the implementation of an Orchidnet Intranet, highlighting the system’s online communication capabilities that make it easy for employees to stay in touch regardless of time and location. This functionality, allied with information and workflow management facilities and the potential for post-installation expansion meant that the recently-released Version 3 of Orchidnet was able to meet Brevan Howard’s exact Intranet requirements.
The Brevan Howard intranet was installed on the 1st of August 2003, and went live soon after. A full update was performed on 07-Mar-2005, 19 months later. |
