Assicurazioni Generali Guernsey is the Channel Islands branch of Generali, Italy’s largest insurance company. With head offices in Trieste, Italy, the Generali Group as a whole is Europe’s third-largest insurer, with gross premiums for 2006 totalling over €62bn. The group is also an official supplier to the Italian national football team, winners of the 2006 FIFA World Cup trophy.
As an important constituent part of the wider Generali group, it is important for Assicurazioni Generali Guernsey to manage not only its own employees, assets and information, but also that of its customers in conjunction with information from other branches of the wider Generali group, all whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments in the insurance market.
Following the extremely positive reception given to Orchidnet PRO at the Generali group’s mainland UK branch, Assicurazioni Generali Guernsey were interested to see how Orchidnet could bring the same benefits to their arm of the organisation.
With this in mind, Assicurazioni Generali Guernsey contacted Orchid Software to get the ball rolling on a similar installation within their own premises. With their choice of intranet already in mind given its first-rate track record within the Generali group, Orchidnet PRO was the clear choice for the Channel Islands offices.
Implementation commenced in late 2006, and following content population the intranet is expected to go live in the third quarter of 2007. |
