Established in 1974, Michell Instruments are world-renowned specialists in the field of industrial measurement instrumentation. The internationally-accredited manufacturer of hygrometers, moisture analysers and hydrocarbon dew point meters has head offices in Ely, UK, and sister offices in Germany, Holland and France.
As befits a company at the forefront of its field of operations, the Michell Instruments client base includes world-renowned names from ABB to AstraZeneca. The instrumentation produced by the company is used in fields as varied as electronics manufacture, defence and the chemical industry.
Co-ordinating the amount and variety of data collected by the company in both its internal and customer-facing operations is a significant administrative task. Given their reputation for technological excellence, Michell Instruments were quick to identify the potential for the right business tools to enhance their internal operations.
Contacting Orchid Software helped Michell Instruments discuss the potential for intranet implementation to meet their business needs; working together, it became apparent that Orchidnet PRO would provide the functionality that Michell Required.
Implementation started in late 2006, and the intranet went live in March 2007 with great success; discussions are ongoing with regard to extend the intranet further with additional Optional applications. |
