Introduction
Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK is the largest company in the North-East of England. The company achieved a turnover of 2.1 billion pounds from 1997-1998 and currently employs over 5000 people. The Nissan plant in Sunderland has been voted the most efficient car plant in Western Europe.
The Project
Orchid Software developed IDM to entirely eliminate the paperwork associated with traditional paper based systems. IDM provides a set of tools that manage the creation, approval, distribution, revision, and subsequent change management of all their enterprise wide documentation.
IDM can handle Forms, Specifications, Procedures, Drawings, Project Plans, Manuals, Video, Sound Clips, Presentations and numerous other document categories. IDM utilises your current E-mail system by automatically informing individuals of new documents, revisions or activities that are required to be carried out. All approvals and distributions are handled electronically, virtually eliminating paperwork overnight.
