The Problem
Northern Rock takes on a number of employees every month, all of whom have to be put through an extensive induction program. Before the introduction of Orchidnet, this involved:
- Handing out an A4 binder, containing over 200 pages of information and a number of exercises that the inductee had to complete in their own time
- A number of time-consuming classroom sessions with trainers
- Several assessments to ensure that the inductees had understood the requirements
- The completion and return of several policy agreements, including health & safety and information security.
The whole process quickly became time consuming, expensive and dull for both inductee and trainer.
The Solution
Orchid Software converted Northern Rock’s existing static content and information manuals into a series of Flash - based online cartoon presentations, providing a fun and informative way to address important learning areas in projects such as:
