One North East is the Regional Development Agency (RDA) covering the North East region of England, comprising Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Tees Valley. Supporting business, people, and the environment as well as the wider region as a whole, One North East aims to create a vibrant, self reliant, ambitious and outward looking North East of England.
With such a wide range of operations, any tool that would help to keep staff informed and up to date would obviously be a boon to the organization as a whole, and so the potential for a corporate Intranet was realized. Based on the powerful functionality of Orchidnet as well as their customer-focused approach, Orchid Software was selected as the chosen supplier.
Since its recent installation, the Intranet has proved to be a great success, combining it’s powerful functionality with a user-friendly interface that has enabled One North East to roll Orchidnet out across the entire organization, including their overseas offices.
The installation was implemented in February 2005, and went live immediately; the intranet has become a vital part of One North East’s operations. |
